The Red Cedar Warranty

When you purchase a Red Cedar home, you are getting more than a new house. You are getting our commitment to stand behind every detail of your home for years to come.

Coverage Summary

1 Year Workmanship Warranty: Covers defects in construction workmanship including drywall, paint, trim carpentry, cabinetry, flooring installation, door and window operation, grout, caulking, and other finish items. This is the most common warranty category and covers the items you notice during your first year of living in the home.

2 Year Mechanical Systems Warranty: Covers your plumbing system, electrical system, and HVAC system. If a pipe leaks, a circuit fails, or your HVAC underperforms during the first two years, we address it.

10 Year Structural Warranty: Covers major structural components including the foundation, load bearing walls, floor framing, roof framing, and other structural elements. These issues are rare in new construction but we cover them for a full decade.

Proactive Warranty Walks

We do not wait for problems. Red Cedar schedules proactive warranty walks at 30 days, 60 days, and 11 months after closing. The 30 day walk catches the “now that I have been living here” items. The 11 month walk ensures we address everything before your first year workmanship warranty expires.

Submit a Warranty Claim
